Close up of Counsellor Nell Campbell's smiling face

Hi, I’m Nell (she/her). I am a PACFA accredited therapist living and working in Sydney’s Inner West on Gadigal Land

I have a Graduate Diploma in counselling from the Australian College of Applied Psychology and I am a certified advanced practitioner of emotional freedom techniques (EFT Tapping) through the Australian Tapping Institute.

Since 2019 I have been working as a counsellor and EFT practitioner in non-government organisations, social enterprises and in private practice.

My therapeutic approach is integrative. Our sessions will be adapted to your needs and preferences, drawing from person-centred therapy, internal family systems therapy, somatic therapy, EFT tapping, polyvagal theory, attachment theory and more.

I am offering individual therapy sessions in person, located in Erskineville at Union Street Yoga and Wellness, and via Telehealth.

I offer flexible session times with some capacity to meet after hours and on weekends.

Please get in touch to make a booking, or for a free 15 minute consult before you commit to a session.

Therapeutic Philosophy

My therapeutic approach is foundationally holistic, person-centred, non-judgmental and non-pathologising.

What does that actually mean? It means if we work together, you can expect that the process will always be collaborative and respectful. I invite you to come as you are and I will meet you with compassion and curiosity. I will not be giving you advice, rather guiding you towards your own inner knowing. I do not claim to know better than you, but I aim to provide a mirror encouraging self-reflection and honesty, allowing space for healing and growth to happen at your unique pace.

The way I work is informed by the understanding that as human beings we are naturally self-protecting. Often this means that we attempt to bypass emotional discomfort in an effort to protect ourselves from pain. This avoidance tends to mean our suffering lingers and manifests in ways we have little control over such as; anxiety, depression, destructive cycles of behaviour, unhealthy coping mechanisms and physical symptoms.

My role is to help you tune in to your body and mind, gently holding space for you to safely feel your feelings so they can be processed and released. Resourcing you with the tools to move through the ups and downs of life with greater ease and self-alignment.

Showing up in therapy is an act of courage and I honour the vulnerability it takes to reach out.

Specialties

I feel comfortable working with a diverse range of people spanning gender, sexuality and life experience.

I am most experienced working with people faced with issues of:

  • impacts of a difficult childhood

  • trauma

  • domestic and family violence

  • symptoms of anxiety

  • symptoms of depression

  • relationships

  • self esteem

  • stress and burn out

  • women’s health

You will not hear me say “this is a safe space” because simply claiming to be safe does not make it so. Of course, I will do everything within my power to create a safe container for you. One so full of warmth, compassion and understanding that you can let it all hang out. Though I would never be so bold as to claim to be a safe person for you. That is something only you can claim for yourself. And I trust you.

If you are looking for support for something not listed we may still be a good fit. I offer a free 15 minute consultation for you to decide, before you commit to booking a session.
